I just got an email from the head of my Master’s degree program. She insists that it’s practically mandatory for everyone to come to the Master’s orientation day on August 30. You know why? Because it’s not just orientation day. It’s orientation plus registering for classes day.
That’s right. We are going to register for our classes in person. All at once. At the orientation day. I feel like I’m back in 1990s Russia, when you had to go to a room full of phone booths to make an international phone call. I’m surprised we don’t have to FAX in our registration information.
They also sent me a course description list and a “timetable”, but it is seriously the most confusing thing I’ve ever seen. Even my Dutch boyfriend couldn’t figure it out.
And I thought it was weird when I had to register for my exchange courses by e-mailing the course coordinator. I miss that now…
